The dealer landscape explored at TOM Forum

The BVRLA’s Technical and Operational Management Forum taking place this Thursday 4 February and will include a Q&A session with Daksh Gupta of Marshall Motor Group, who will be speaking about how dealerships will change as we transition to electric vehicles.

Topics being discussed at the TOM Forum include:

  • Dealer preparedness for the electric vehicle (EV) product line gaining momentum and with the phase-out date now set.
  • Range anxiety from drivers and whether dealers have charging points on their sites and what more can be done to assist this.
  • Technicians’ training and how long it will take for them to be approved to work on EVs. Delays have been witnessed at some retailers due to them only having one member of staff who can work on EVs.
  • What franchise dealers will face over the coming years and how this is going to transform the dealer landscape.
  • The growth of online used car dealers and less SMR work required on electric vehicles.

Industry experts from Fleet Assist, i247, ICDP and Tusker will also be sharing insights on the changing dealership business models and the impact of changes within the aftermarket services.
