Review of the Technical and Operational Management Forum

Over 50 representatives from across the BVRLA membership attended last week’s Technical and Operational Management Forum where the focus of discussion was on electrical vehicles.

Electric vehicle themes covered included PSA’s product and network training, a case study from Royal Mail on how they have rolled out 100 Peugeot Vans onto their fleet and the challenges they faced.

The question was posed about repair centres/independent and dealer network garages and what they need to consider with the increase of EVs with respect to their workforce and training programmes. There was also an insurance company perspective to find out if the increased cost of repairs is affecting claims.

Developments in charging points was explored, where the market is going and what are the current barriers to success when it comes to BVRLA members putting more electric vehicles on their fleets.

Initial comments from attendees were positive, one said; “It was a great educational day in learning more about Electric Vehicles, now and in the future”, another added “I really enjoyed furthering my knowledge of EVs through the presentations.”
