Members have the cleanest vehicle fleet on the road

Last week, the BVRLA published new data on its members’ green credentials, showing that vehicle rental and leasing members are leading the transition to cleaner transport.

The latest Fleet Sustainability Credentials show that BVRLA members’ fleet outperforms privately owned vehicles on carbon emissions and Clean Air Zone (CAZ) compliance.

The 2019 data shows that vehicle rental and leasing companies are already leading the transition to cleaner transport, with 100% of the car rental fleet and 96% of leased cars being CAZ-compliant. These compliance figures are well ahead of the average for all UK cars, where only 62% meet CAZ emission requirements. The results are even starker for the commercial vehicle sector.

Coinciding with the publication of the new Fleet Sustainability Credentials, BVRLA Chief Executive Gerry Keaney joined city leaders, government ministers and industry representatives at the International Air Quality Summit hosted by the Mayor of London, World Health Organisation and UK100.

The BVRLA welcomed the opportunity to support a new Clean Air Declaration and demonstrate the vehicle rental and leasing sector’s determination to work in partnership with business leaders and central government.
