Future urban role of cars explored at BVRLA Congress

The evolving role of the car in the city will be explored in a major new report launching at the BVRLA’s Future Mobility Congress on 4 July.

As an increasing number of local authorities reconsider the ways people travel around their city, the car is often overlooked, despite being one of the most versatile and popular modes of transport. The ‘Car in the City’ report will consider how the role of the car can be adapted to play an important role in this emerging, future mobility eco-system.

As well as learning first-hand about the report’s findings, delegates will also hear from a panel of experts who will explore the topic in greater depth and from a variety of perspectives. Joining the panel will be:

  • Ben Lawson, Vice President - Strategy UK and Ireland, Enterprise Holdings
  • Chris Lane, Head of Transport Innovation, Transport for West Midlands
  • Darren Shirley, Chief Executive, Campaign for Better Transport
  • Jonathan Hampson, General Manager UK, Zipcar
  • Matthew Clark, Associate, Steer Group
