Consumer Duty and complaints were among the key talking points at the BVRLA’s final Compliance Forum of the year earlier this week.
Over 50 industry professionals were in attendance, including senior management, compliance, and legal representatives from across BVRLA membership. The packed agenda covered topics putting consumers firmly in focus with sessions on Consumer Duty, ESG, the Appointed Representatives (AR) regime and then a final session on the impact of regulation, vulnerable customers, and the importance of complaints.
Speakers at the Forum included Shoosmiths partner Wayne Gibbard, who made observations on Consumer Duty implementation and enforcement; and Tracey Groves, Head of Sustainable Business and ESG Advisory Practice at DWF with a ESG Big Picture presentation. Delegates then heard from Marc Lepere of Omnevue on lessons learnt on ESG and how SMEs can put it into practice. Panel discussions featured representatives from Novuna, Bridle, DWF, PPL, Deloitte and the BVRLA.
The BVRLA’s 2023 Compliance Forum programme was supported by specialist legal firms Shoosmiths LLP and DWF Law LLP. Look out for details of the 2024 programme. BVRLA Forums are run on a subscription-based model: enquire about becoming a subscriber.
