Chancellor announces his Autumn Budget

Last week, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, presented his Autumn Budget to Parliament.

Last week, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, presented his Autumn Budget to Parliament. The Budget, which he described as ‘a Budget to lay the foundations for a country fit for the future’ included several announcements that will be of interest to BVRLA members.

Responded to the Budget, BVRLA Chief Executive Gerry Keaney welcomed the Chancellor’s decision not to increase the tax burden upon commercial vehicle operators and was pleased to see investment ploughed into the country’s EV charging infrastructure.

Keaney was however, disappointed to see an increase in the company car tax diesel supplement, retrospectively raising the company car tax bill of hundreds of thousands of workers.
