BVRLA Forums examine impact of vehicle supply 

The impact of vehicle supply challenges both on residual values and repairs will be examined at the BVRLA’s next Residual Value and Remarketing (RVR) Forum and Technical and Operational Management (TOM) Forum.

Residual Value and Remarketing (RVR) - 16 June 

The RVR Forum, taking place on 16 June at Aston Barclay, Wakefield and chaired by Geoff Grindle, Head of Asset Valuation and Pricing at Arval BNP Paribas Group, will have a focus on the trends being seen in the used car and van markets, across both late plate and 3/4-year-old vehicles - with views from auction houses and guides. 

The first session will be with Martin Potter and Duncan Ward of Aston Barclay who will give a market overview by segment including late plate and the outlook for the next six months.  

The next session will be a view from a data provider with Dylan Setterfield of cap hpi who will look at future projections and trend position for 3/4-year-old vehicles and late plate. 

The third session, with Ed Hummel of Autotrader, will look at used Battery Electric Vehicles including volumes in the used market and future market projections.

Technical and Operational Management (TOM) -
9 June 

The June TOM Forum, taking place online on 9 June and chaired by Clive Buhagiar, Head of Underwriting, BMW Financial Services and TOM Committee Chairman, will focus on the impact contract extensions are having on maintaining the fleet, adding the latest trend data for operating electric vehicles on fleet. 

The sessions will include Chris Crow and Vincent St Claire of Fleet Assist with market insights and Helen Keenan of i247 who will focus on the impact contract extensions are having on maintaining the fleet and Navigating Technology & Disruption. This will be followed by a session on breakdowns and incident management with Dean Hedger of The AA and then trends in incident management with the FMG Group. 

Attendance at the forums requires a yearly subscription, which entitles BVRLA members to send up to two representatives to each of the three RVR or TOM forums throughout 2022.
