Business Plan for BVRLA to respond to challenges

The BVRLA has updated its Business Plan, which provides a high-level overview of the association’s priorities between now and 2023.

The Business Plan was last updated in 2019 and this latest iteration sees the BVRLA put a renewed focus on improving member influence, engagement and value.

The new objectives include:

  • Strengthening the association’s digital capabilities
  • Stronger focus on staff wellbeing and development
  • Providing members with more personalised and streamlined communications
  • Ensuring that every member plays a part in delivering road transport decarbonisation
  • Providing more opportunities for members to share their insights and perspectives.

The plan also sees the association continue with many of its existing priorities:

  • Providing a wider array of professional development opportunities
  • Developing a robust, independent governance structure
  • Increasing political influence
  • Increasing BVRLA brand recognition and improving consumer confidence in our industry.

BVRLA Chief Executive Gerry Keaney said; “Like most organisations, 2020 saw the BVRLA repositioning itself in response to the challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns. These challenges will have a long-lasting impact on the way we work and communicate, the state of the economy and the agendas being pursued by policymakers and regulators.  This updated plan will ensure that the BVRLA can thrive in this very different business environment.”
