Boost to career development in vehicle rental

The BVRLA’s online Certificate in Vehicle Rental Operator Skills, accredited by the Institute of Motor Industry, has been reduced in price to help support businesses looking to upskill or retrain staff.

Candidates can take all five examination papers, or they can choose to sit three papers, which must include Papers 1 and 2 which are compulsory.

The five papers cover the following and include a series of multiple-choice questions:

  • Paper 1 - General Vehicle Rental Operator Skills
  • Paper 2 - Insurance Practice
  • Paper 3 - Tariff Interpretation
  • Paper 4 - Overseas Hire and Hirers
  • Paper 5 - Light Commercial Vehicles

BVRLA Head of Learning & Development, Mark Pow said: “The BVRLA Rental Operator Skills accreditation has been running for over 20 years and has kept pace with the new demands of rental operations, enabling candidates to demonstrate that they have the skills and understanding needed in 2020.

“This accreditation is ideally placed to support rental agents and managers in daily rental and light commercial vehicle rental locations. I am delighted to confirm that we are now lowering last year’s prices for the 2020 exams.”

The next online assessment will take place on the 11 November 2020. Prior to the exams the association will run an online refresher session with a rental expert to help candidates prepare for their accreditation.
