Last week the Government updated the list of vehicles eligible for grants under the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme.
This scheme allows car dealerships and manufacturers to receive grants to reduce the price customers pay for brand new electric and hybrid cars, vans, mopeds, motorcycles and taxis.
All vehicles qualifying for the scheme must be approved as ultra-low emission vehicles by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles and meet separate government criteria. Eligible vehicles are separated into seven categories based on CO2 emissions, with the grant amount varying by category.
BVRLA car fleets are already on average 8% cleaner than the national figure. The association therefore welcomes steps such as the renewing of this grant scheme, as it will help ensure members can continue to lead the way with greener vehicles.
The updated list of eligible vehicles is available on the Gov.uk website.
