IMI Accreditation

Developed in partnership with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), this accreditation is designed specifically for staff working directly with customers in a driver support or customer service position and those working as technical service advisors.

Rental and leasing personnel can now gain recognition of their abilities and boost their careers with a qualification developed by the BVRLA and the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

Duration

Level 2 Assessment (2 1/2 to 3 hours per candidate); Level 3 Assessment (4 to 5 hours per candidate)

Series of written and discussion based assessments

Level 2 £350+VAT per person and Level 3 £450+VAT per person.

Customer Service Advisors may become accredited at the following levels:

• Customer Service Advisor – Level 2 
• Senior Technical Customer Service Advisor – Level 3

Information on Level 2 Accreditation

In order to be eligible to take this IMI assessment, a candidate must have a minimum level of industry experience in an appropriate role for at least 3 months.

In order to attain accreditation, candidates must demonstrate that they possess the identified ‘core competences’ for the role. This will be achieved via a series of practical assessments in conjunction with an on-line knowledge test. There are 4 tests in total for Customer Service Advisor accreditation.

Information on Level 3 Accreditation

In order to be eligible to take this IMI assessment, a candidate must have a minimum level of industry experience in an appropriate role for at least 3 years.

In order to attain accreditation, candidates must demonstrate that they possess the identified ‘core competences’ for the role. This will be achieved via a series of practical assessments in conjunction with an on-line knowledge test. There are 6 tests in total for Senior Customer Service Advisor accreditation.
