Fair Wear and Tear Standards Training - Contract Hire

Who should attend?

  • It is ideal for any one who regularly discusses the condition of the vehicle with the customer in a practical way, especially during the contract period or on termination.

  • Those involved in assessing costs charged to the customer, but worthwhile for those in a business development role as well.

Aims and Objectives

Delegates will gain an understanding of the key principles influencing vehicle resale and will be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear condition standards when talking to customers.

Useful advice and tips will be given on how to encourage customers to care for the vehicle and prevent problems arising at contract termination.

The course can be delivered from a technical perspective or a more sales and customer-facing perspective.

  • Appraisal of a vehicle using a dedicated method relating any findings to the Fair Wear and Tear Standards
  • Effective communication methods with customers to limit misunderstandings and resolve problematic issues

Training will be delivered with a 75 – 25% split classroom to practical workshop. Delegates should be able to attain a minimum of 75% pass mark in the post course validation paper

This programme is interactive and involves role playing to practice the principles covered in the course.
