Vehicle Mileage Database

Vehicle clocking fraud cheats car buying consumers out of an estimated £150 million each year. There are over five million clocked vehicles in the UK, some with the potential to kill, as many buyers rely on an indicated mileage as a measure of condition and safety.

The BVRLA Vehicle Mileage Database aims to reduce vehicle clocking crime and protect consumers. It contains over five and a half million mileage records for vehicles disposed of from members’ fleets. Private buyers can access the data through companies including Experian (AA Car Data Check), HPI and CDL Vehicle Information Services, in order to verify the mileage of a vehicle before purchasing it.

What's in it for you?

By donating disposal mileage records, you can earn money. In return for sending the mileage records of your de-fleeted vehicles to the database, you will receive a fee based on the number of ‘hits’ against your vehicles. For many members this income can exceed their annual membership subscription, effectively giving them free membership. In addition, you should make cost savings by not having to respond to so many mileage enquiries.

As well as the financial reward, you will get that warm feeling from knowing that you are doing the ‘right thing’ by demonstrating your commitment to ethical trading!
