Equal Rights

All members must ensure that they are adhering to all current legislation with regards to equal rights. To assist members with the complexity of equal rights the following pages provide in depth information about age discrimination, disability discrimination as well as up to date information concerning the impact of the current Equality Bill and an overview of the BVRLA’s lobbying campaign.

What is equal rights?

Equal rights focuses on those areas covered by the law, namely the key areas of race, gender, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation and age. It is important that staff or consumers must not be unfairly discriminated against because of any of the above factors and employers must contribute to creating a positive workplace environment where discriminatory practices and discrimination no longer take place.
